Abstract Lack of housing security is a major problem for rural migrant workers in China. This chapter explores the range and depth problems facing migrants. These challenges include issues affordability poor quality administrative barriers that inhibit access to commercial welfare programmes. There big difference between consumption pattern city countryside. due large discrepancies levels good accommodation migrants from areas established urban population. inequalities are exacerbated by inherited forms residential registration adversely affect settling towns cities.
